Nick Poe nearly salivates at the sound of a ‘69 Camaro RS revving its engine. His eyes practically bug out at the sight of its “hugger orange” exterior and white racing stripes. Yeah, Nick’s got it pretty bad for this hot, little number. With a lot of hard work and some strategic financial planning, he just might get to drive one of these beauties down Route 66 one day, a dream that tops his bucket list.
Nick is the Chief Investment Officer at Jennings & Associates. He claims to be a dull numbers guy, but upon further investigation one senses a spark and an interest in the financial field that is far from ordinary.
Nick grew up around Mayfield, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and he finished his Masters in Business Administration at Murray State University. If Nick seems obsessed with spreadsheets and financial analysis it’s because he absolutely is.
“I entered this field in 2007, right around the time of the big market crash,” Nick says. “The lessons that were learned in that have shaped my understanding of finance today. I want to understand the mechanics of why the market works as it does because no matter what is going on in the industry there will be a ripple effect felt around the world as things happen.”
Nick is driven to dig deep into the issues that are most relevant to clients. He understands that the world we live in today does not look like the world our parents and grandparents grew up in. That reality makes him good at what he does and we can’t imagine this place without him.
